portable mantras

Letting go doesn’t mean losing.

Notice how incredible people are for just being themselves.

The most humble thing you can do is love yourself.

Life will be full if you spend it chasing after the Father’s heart.

The only thing worth anything is the intimacy granted by the cross.

Live your life with an open hand, fully ready for God to give and take away.

Never underestimate the power of prayer. Do it without ceasing.

Learn to live with contentment in the unknowns.

Sometimes the only thing stopping you from freedom is not forgiving yourself for something you’ve already been forgiven for.

If Jesus does it, it is probably a good idea for us to do it too.

Trusting in the fact that we can’t control tomorrow allows us to live more presently and purposefully in today.

Be thankful for gifts, but let them always point you to the Giver.

Our time is one of the most valuable things we can give to people.

Rejoice in His presence regardless of what our circumstances look like.

When you try to hold things together, they will fall apart. But when you fall apart in the arms of a loving Father, you will find a peace that you will never find anywhere else.

God is always there to comfort the aching soul; because He came down in human form, He understands us with unmatched empathy.

Be vulnerable with where you are and transparent with where you’ve been; it is the scariest yet most rewarding thing you could ever do.

Don’t let your heart become numb to the good and bad of life. Any day of feeling at your worst is better than any day of feeling nothing at all.

God has not abandoned you. He is hard at work within us, especially when we can’t see Him.

Release your clenched fists and surrender what you have back to the One who gave it to you in the first place.

Don’t let fear of failure stop you from doing what you want to do; failure is what moves us forward.

Sing when you’re scared. Praise and pray knowing you’ve already been met.

Be curious; curiosity breeds passion and empathy, it keeps life exciting and sharpens our thoughts.

Take in moments for all that they are; cherish moments of rest, truly listen to those you love, and be present in the moment.

God is working through your darkest moments. Choose to praise Him because you know this is true.

If you’re willing to open up your heart to God, you will hear His voice.

Quality is better than quantity, always.

People were not made to depend on people. We were made to depend on God.

The Lord doesn’t want us to feel overcome by failure or burdened by the idea that we are not enough. He made us enough, and He covered us in grace.

Pain cannot be allowed to steer the course of your life. You man the wheel. Steer your pain well.

Seek more and yet be content with less.

Pay attention to your life, to the beauty of extraordinary ordinary moments.

The road to peace involves taking control of our thoughts. If we focus our minds on Christ, we will see the fruits of peace both internally and externally.

Attribute all blessings to the Lord, especially when it’s tempting to look to your own work or deeds.

Never be satisfied to remain within your comfort zone.

Seek beauty in the in-between. If you sit back and wait for the next life-altering moment, you will miss so much life.

Every day is a decision to make: will I believe I am who He says I am?

Loosen your grip. Let God make something more of what you’re holding onto.

Ask God to change your heart rather than your circumstances.

Your peace is not determined by your circumstances.

There is nothing you can do and no mistake you can make that can ruin the perfect plan God has for you.

The Bible is not a book that says “you are valuable because of how God loves YOU;” it is a book that says “you are valuable because of how GOD loves you.”

It is utter joy to understand that we completely belong to Jesus.

When you think you aren’t strong enough to overcome a challenge, God will prove you wrong.

Jesus really is enough, and nothing is irredeemable.

What weight does it carry to be the daughter or son of the King if you don’t understand who the King is?

Seek wisdom where it’s needed but don’t depend on others to tell you how to do things.

Your worth and identity is secure in Jesus; it does not change based on what others think of you.

The Lord does great works in the still moments of our lives.

There will come a time when life will throw everything it has at you. In moments that feel like the darkest nights, lean on the strength of the Lord and there will always be a bright morning breaking through.

Repentance comes hand-in-hand with coming clean to people you’ve hurt. We can’t feel at peace with God if we aren’t at peace with the people most important to us.

When you are truly in His perfect will, you can know without any doubts that things are going to follow according to His good plan.

The most important things are the eternal things. Make them your primary priority.

Only by exploring the darkest parts of our hearts will we be opened to the infinite power of our light.

Avoid living life thinking about what could go wrong; just because a dream may not end up being reality doesn’t mean you shouldn’t chase it.

Suffering teaches us something: view it as an opportunity, not something to avoid at all costs.

Everything that happens, good or bad, serves a greater purpose in the end. It fulfills His will for our lives.

Live life with intimacy and be present to the mundane.

Don’t take the little moments for granted: savor them and look forward to eternity with that much more hope. The sweet joys that we receive are a small little taste of what heaven will be like.

Once you embrace who you authentically are, you can connect to God and others in extraordinary ways.

To live intimately means to love freely and fully.

He won’t call us where He won’t lead us. He has called us to right here, right now to use us for a purpose so much greater than our own.

Stop working as though your salvation is dependent on you.

God loves you no matter your mindset, your opinion of Him, or your circumstance.

Ask the Lord to give you eyes to see things the way He sees them.

God promises newness for us every day. He is always moving and always working up something new in us.

God wants to show up so big in our lives if we just give ourselves the space to listen.

Carving out some time and some space is the perfect recipe for truly being in the presence of God.

Seeing one another through the heart as God does allows love to consume our existence.

Embrace the uncertainty and use it to draw closer to Him and trust in the promises He has given us.

Take a step towards the uncomfortable. Find joy in knowing that He always has more!

When trials come, dig in with joy because we know we’ll come out on the other side looking more like Jesus.

Be still and listen to what God has to say.

God is in control and His plan is so much better than anything we could imagine.

This wasn’t a surprise to God. This wasn’t Plan B for your life. He has you where you are right now for a reason.

You can trust in God’s goodness in the midst of your doubtful emotions. Trusting before you believe is what helps us get to a place of fully believing.

When I’m the lowest, God brings the biggest lessons.

He is an amazing Creator who reveals himself in the littlest of ways, it just takes a quiet pause to see his beautiful masterpiece all around us.

Change is nothing to fear: it leaves room for us to move closer towards the direction of who we are meant to be.

You are just as beautiful as the ocean or the sunrise.

God promises newness for us every day. He is always moving and always working up something new in us.

God loves you no matter your mindset, your opinion of Him, or your circumstance.

Ask the Lord to give you eyes to see things the way He sees them.

The Lord has already extended you an invite into a love and freedom. It is like a vast pasture with rolling hills, a place where you can run forever into peace.

God goes through pain with us because our growth is worth it to Him.

The reason our hearts are not aligned with God’s are because our treasures are here on Earth. Until Jesus’ name being known is our only treasure, our hearts will never fully belong to Christ.

‘I don’t know’ is a faithful answer.

In every moment we have the chance to fly away from our culture of hurry, our neglect of our emotions, and our selfishness. Give yourself some space to redefine your relationship with the Lord.

There is no better way to combat power of the enemy than with God’s authority.

Choose to seek comfort and peace from the One who loves us more than we could ever imagine over fear and shame from a being that makes it his life’s mission for us to live in pain.

Be content. You are doing enough just as you are.

Be thankful for love from the people that God has placed in your life; it makes everything else feel much more whole.

When we believe God is Creator and we are his creation, we won’t go about our lives thinking we deserve anything.

We, although being nothing more than dust on our own, are valued and treasured and made much of when we make much of Christ.

Our own plans and strivings are worthless compared to His rest.

It’s easy to think we are constantly missing out on life. But we are called to live more than we ever have during periods of uncertainty, because God has already done the hardest steps for us.

Be receptive. Our burdens aren’t meant to be carried alone but shared with a Heavenly Father and a heavenly community.

Invest in the chapters, don’t skip to the end of the book and read the last page.

Run the race that you’ve been called to run. Having a reason to push through the pain makes it easier.

In the hard seasons, remember who you’re fighting for and who is fighting for you.

Hold onto your childlike wonder: acknowledge the hard things, but choose joy anyway.

See God’s grace in everything. Humility is a gift God gives us, not something we can just improve ourselves.

There is a divine beauty in seeing the glory that is yet to be revealed.

There will always be more of us that can look more like Him; rejoice in a lifetime of learning and growing.

Sometimes all that you will have to counter the temptations of this world is God’s word. Meditate on it and memorize it.

In every hard season we have a chance to come out of it stronger than how we came into it. Use that time to grow your faith.

You always lose in the comparison game. Be happy in other’s success and be proud of your own.

Be still with the One who took the time to perfect every single inch of creation.

We don’t need clarity to have faith. God is steadfast; He holds onto us even when we can’t feel His presence.
