Jordan Weems

This is Jordan Weems. Jordan is a powerhouse of a human– she is the queen of UGA, she lightens up a room with her presence, and I love every conversation I have with her. But she is also deep in her walk with the Lord and passionate about His role in her life.

“God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him”- John Piper

I have a habit of saying things are the best ever. I was describing an experience I had with Jesus to a friend and said “it was the best ever!” and they said, “you said that about the last experience you had with Jesus. See the best is always yet to come with Jesus.” In that moment, I realized that life here is about waiting on the Lord. Yes we wait for miracles, blessings, and trials to come to an end, but we are all here to wait on the returning of the Lord.  He is the best yet to come. He is our ultimate satisfaction and each day when we wake up, His arrival should be the one we’re waiting for. He should be our greatest satisfaction, our identity, and our life’s mission to love and adore and serve Him.

That quote from John Piper has always been a good check for me. Do I find my highest and fullest satisfaction in the Lord or am I looking and waiting for something else on this Earth that’s distracting me? If I’m fully satisfied in God, He will also be most glorified through the way I live, waiting well for His return.

This verse reminds me that God is the ultimate gift.

“Whom have I in Heaven bedsides you, and nothing on this Earth I desire but you. My flesh and heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”

Psalm 73:25-26

Looking at my life and seeing where I spend my time, money, and resources and listening to the words of my mouth- I’m not to the point of finding my satisfaction in Christ. I’m determined to work on it. Here’s to spending the rest of my life finding the fullest satisfaction in Christ.
