This is James Curington. James is one of my favorite people to have a conversation with. He asks fun questions (see: the about the author section) and makes everyone in a room feel welcome!
Hi I’m James!!
One of the biggest things God has taught me over my time in college is surrender. Initially anytime I hear that word, it sounds kinda scary, but the reality is that surrendering in the right places is the most fulfilling thing you can do! The first area I’ve learned this is with God. Learning how to fully open up to him and let him in to every part of life has allowed him to speak into all the parts of my life and lead to much deeper intimacy with him! The second area I’ve experienced this in is community. This requires vulnerability, which is hard, but God has put so many amazing people in my life and it’s so worth allowing them to see and know me and allowing myself to see and know them! This has honestly been so fun and I am so thankful for all the people I’m blessed to know! Lastly: surrendering to responsibility or opportunities. Obviously we all have to deal with this in school and be diligent with studying and grades (yuck) but there’s opportunities we get all the time that we get to choose. This is super simple, like choosing to hang out with friends or signing up for something at Wesley. When you really give yourself to these things you can learn so much and grow so much!!
Anyways that’s about it. Peace.
