Audrey Colabrese

This is Audrey Colabrese. Audrey is someone who I have watched love her people well. She is kind, full of life, and encouraging. She is warmth and light. And she is wise and in step with the Lord!

2021 has been such a grand reminder of God’s pursuit for each one of us. I remember last summer searching my Bible and resources on how to know I was being a good Christian. How to know that I was playing the part. How to make sure I was doing what the Lord wanted. I was putting all the pressure on myself, and was searching for this one thing to make sure I was truly a Christain and I wasn’t just convincing myself.  But this year the Lord has been so good and has taken that burden away from me. You see, each of us are dead in our sins. Now I know you’ve heard that a million times, and I had too but I didn’t truly understand it fully. We’re not out in the ocean struggling to swim when Jesus just throws us a life vest… we are already dead, at the bottom of the ocean, lungs filled with water, and Jesus comes to our lowest of lows and picks us up. He breathes life into us.

We are broken people who are in desperate need of a perfect Savior. How amazing is it that, not because of anything we did, say, or can do, that God sent his one and only Son to die on the cross for our sins!!!

I am reading Philippians now and in verse 29 it reads, “For it has been granted to you on Christ’s behalf not only to believe in him, but also suffer for him.” We believe in Christ because Christ chose us. He granted us that gift of salvation. We are saved by grace through faith. No one can boast in this because they weren’t the ones who brought it upon themselves!! (Referencing Ephesians here!)

I’m a performer, so my faith has always been subconsciously a way to perform for others. I was convincing myself for so long that I truly had affection for our Saviour. It wasn’t until I truly saw the gravity of my sin that I saw the goodness of Christ. That I truly saw no life without Him. And now I have found this freedom, this peace!! There is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus because of what he did on the cross, not anything that I could EVER do (Romans 12!!).

Guys, this is some GOOD NEWS!!
