Brooke Dellis

Brooke is someone who I so eagerly always want to know what she has to say. I remember in Jamaica we were painting a classroom and asking questions back and forth, and I was always so curious to hear Brooke’s voice. What she has to say is powerful, and she’s also a great listener. She is wise, compassionate, and a lover at heart.

I’ve learned that God has a plan and on top of that, He is always actively working in my life. Especially in college, you are given so many choices, so many opportunities, and so many opened doors. God closed more doors for me this year than ever before. But He also opened more doors for me this year. At the time, I always questioned why God closed a certain door in my life. I would be so confused and honestly so hurt that God closed a door that I wanted to be open to badly. But looking back now, I understand why He closed the doors that He did, and I’m thankful that He did because it opened better doors, better opportunities for me and my relationship with Him. What I wanted—what doors I wanted opened—was not of God’s plan, and that’s okay! It’s okay that God closes doors! If I did only what I wanted, I wouldn’t be where I am now. He knows and wants what is best for you and what brings you closer to Him! His way is always better and so much more joy-filled and fulfilling, even if it doesn’t seem like it at the time!
