Aubrey was an instant friend for me and every moment with her is a precious one. She is one of the most authentic and welcoming people I have ever met, and I don’t say that lightly. Aubrey is easy to trust, she is one of the strongest women I know, and she is a go-to adventure buddy (thanks for jumping out of a plane with me!). She takes on life with an ease and joy that amazes me, and makes everyone in her life feel seen and known.
If you’re like me, then you spend a good deal of time wondering and planning what your future will be like. It’s fun to imagine where you may work, who you may marry, where you may live, and the list goes on. In moderation, this can be harmless. However, if we become fixated on the product of our lives, we often miss out on God’s beautiful process for our lives. Now more than ever, it is evident just how uncertain the future is and how quickly our plans can change. I’ve learned the hard way that anxiously waiting for the future only produces discontentment. As believers, we can rest knowing we have a loving and sovereign heavenly Father who is working every detail together for our good (Rom 8:28). Instead of focusing on our ever-changing circumstances, let’s shift our focus to a never-changing God.
