Mia has an understanding of the Lord that challenges me every time we get to talk about it. She sees faith in such a beautiful and simple light that always leaves me thinking about how beautiful the character of God is. Oftentimes when I try to make scripture or circumstances about me, she takes the same circumstances and makes them about God. It’s so beautiful to witness the way she walks through life, and it is a joy to know her beautiful soul.
We don’t have to be afraid to come to God with any feelings or thoughts. He knows them, so just give them to Him. He is our friend, comforter, and Father. If you need to cry out, do it. This is why I love the Psalms. They’re such a beautiful and diverse display of raw human emotion and, most strikingly, God’s emotion, through poetry and song. He truly listens to our prayers and meets us where we are, whether we have tears in our eyes, laughter in our faces, anxiety in our stomachs, or anger in our chests. He is always there to comfort the aching soul. And the fact that He came down in human form means He understands us with unmatched empathy. He has been there too. No feeling too big or too small escapes Him, so let us sing to Him about everything and be grateful to have such a loving and good God!
