This is Ashlyn Decarlo.
Ohhh, Ashlyn Decarlo is such a joy. She’s like all your favorite things somehow combined into one beautiful human. It is not a bad day if I see Ashlyn at some point during it (and that is not an exaggeration!). Ashlyn has become one of my closest friends and has had a big influence on my life and in the lives of so many others. She loves in a way that directly reflects the Lord’s character and her genuine love for those she comes into contact with is so special.
Invest in the chapters. We don’t need to be so quick to skip to the end of the book and read the last page. It is so easy to get caught up in the comparison of “why doesn’t my life look like theirs?” or “how can I go ____ or do ____ if I don’t have an internship/boyfriend or girlfriend/*insert thing you wish you had*?” I know I get caught up in that too often. Psalm 119:105 says “Your word is a lamp for my feet and a light for my path.” God is teaching me more and more to learn more about Him through the truth in the best book ever and to trust Him with joy and faith to take the next right step, instead of wondering what the next book will be. Soon we’ll be on chapter 45 or 62 and look back to say “yes God, Your will and Your way was, is, and will always be the best.” It’s an everyday prayer for that frame of mind. Run after it. Run to your Father and surrender your life every step of the way.
