Katie is described by many as an angel. The more I’ve gotten to know her, the more I understand how true this is. There are very few angels running around here in Athens, and Katie Courson is certainly one of them. Her compassion for others and her level of motivation to better herself is beautiful and insane at the same time. Katie is a superhero and an angel mixed together: she is a fierce protector of her people and a kind presence to all those she comes into contact with.
Lately I’ve been learning to run the race that I’ve been called to run. Recently, I ran my first half marathon! I had never run a race before and some advice I received going into the race was this: in the last few miles it will get hard, so have a reason that you want to keep running. When the pain came, I had a reason to keep going! I ran my last three miles for the girls in my small group, my future husband, and my future kids. There’s something about having a reason for pushing through pain that makes it easier:). In the hard seasons remember who you’re fighting for and who is fighting for you: the Creator of the universe!
