I met Anna back in September, and she recently revealed to me that she referred to me as “bucket hat girl” for a few months afterwards. And Anna: I consider that the highest of honors. Anna is raw, honest, and brilliant. Her boldness is inspiring and her joy is contagious.
Don’t let your heart and mind become numb to the good and bad of life. Open up your heart and let yourself feel that wide range of emotions that we are intended to feel. I can promise that any day of feeling at your worst is better than any day of feeling nothing at all; you will never be able to “fake it till you make it” with emotions. It starts with being vulnerable with where you are and transparent with where you have been, which is by far the scariest yet most rewarding thing that someone could ever do. It rewards you with deep caring relationships, the ability to support others more intentionally, lots of peace, and a freakishly huge amount of joy and freedom to love others as the Lord has intended.
